Bob ensures staff are deployed optimally and that shifts are arranged appropriately. He efficiently implements, monitors, and controls work procedures. Continuously gathering information on bird strike incidents and sightings, he documents them accurately. Bob also oversees on-the-job training needs and recommends suitable basic, local, and external training programs. Guiding staff by assigning them duties in line with their designated functions, he ensures tasks are completed in compliance with established rules, regulations, and procedures.

Bob attended Mastermark's Airport Wildlife Operations Course in Entebbe, Uganda. He shared that the instructors demonstrated their airport wildlife expertise and introduced wildlife mitigation methods that would work best in his airport environment. Throughout the duration of the course, he found the teaching methods to be insightful and beneficial at Entebbe International Airport.

"I was able to learn more about establishing a wildlife identification laboratory to identify the species involved in wildlife strikes. The instructors shared useful techniques that we are now applying in Entebbe to set traps for some problematic species," Bob elaborates. He further specified that the course offered valuable perspectives on future planning, particularly regarding methods from Mastermark's Aerodrome 360 framework.

After completing this course, his advice to those who haven't participated is that they're overlooking an opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge and valuable techniques. These insights could significantly aid their teams and airports in streamlining operations and minimizing wildlife related incidents.

Bob recommends that this ICAO certification and its associated skills will enhance an airport's standing in safety and wildlife control. As personnel acquire new skills in this field, it contributes positively to the overall advancement and moral of airport operations.
